Library Programs

The Elmora Branch of the Elizabeth Public Library offers an up to date collection which includes bestsellers, large type books, children's books, young adult books, books-on-tape, DVDs and videocassettes.  Also offered at the branch are a wide variety of programs.  

Please join us at the Elmora Branch for a lively and friendly book discussion.  The Elmora Book Discussion Group meets on the second Thursday of the month at 9:30am. This is a wonderful opportunity to read different books and to meet other people from the neighborhood.

The Nicholas S. LaCorte Branch is located in the Peterstown section of Elizabeth, a neighborhood that is rich in Italian traditions and family businesses. Opened in 1995, the library is located inside the Peterstown Community Center at 408 Palmer Street, which also houses a preschool and senior citizen programs.

A short walk from five neighborhood schools, the LaCorte Branch hosts class visits for preschool through middle school, and serves the research needs of students of all ages. Group visits can be arranged by calling the branch and asking for the librarian. 

The branch has six computers with internet access available to the public, and offers a wide variety of books, magazines, audiotapes, videocassettes, large print books, and foreign language materials for children, young adults, and adult patrons.

 The E-Port Branch located at 3rd St. & E Jersey Ave (102-110 3rd ST).  It is the newest and smallest of the branch libraries in the city of Elizabeth.  But it is still a window to the big world with its fine children's and adult book holdings, which include new paperbacks.  Separate browsing sections display Mysteries, Spanish language titles, African-American subjects and recent videos for children and adults.   Computer equipment gives access to the Internet, word processing, book search and printout.  The branch opened in April 2000, welcomes school visits.
