Government Sites
The Elizabeth Public Library is a federal and state government depository library. Depository libraries are designated by law to receive without charge all or a selection of the official publications of the governments for which it is a depository. Many of these print publications are being replaced by Internet sites because of the web site's timeliness. Here is a brief list of useful government sites frequently visited by our patrons.

Executive Applications--
The White House Learn about the White House, the President and the executive branch of government. You can also research national policy.
Legislative Applications--
Thomas U.S. Congress on the Internet Information on the House of Representatives and the Senate. Research bills, public laws and the Congressional Record.
Senate Find out who your senators are, track and research bills, find when hearings are scheduled, etc.
House of Representatives Find your representative, find out whats happening on the house floor, research the United States Code.
